Hhhhmmmm..... that should work.....

As opposed to buying yet another PCM though.... contact Hemifever Tuning, and see if he can't send you a tuner for your stock 5.2 computer, to program it for the 5.9. (should be under 300 bucks.)

Another alternative would be, find a 2000 truck, with the 5.9, and the same trans you got. Give that a shot.

I've done a bunch of swaps and I can tell you from much experience, if you run the 360 on the 318 PCM it will run fine and you'll never know the difference on stock motors. For absolute best performance get a pro tune done. In my '01 Silverado sb, rc 2wd I ran 4.8 PCM on an LS1 for over2 years and the truck ran perfectly fine and would blow the doors off a similar Hemi Ram. Now that generation of GM PCM has more self learning capability than our Dodge pcm's from the 2nd gen do, but it will still work fine.

The problem is probably with the mileage on the computer. If the mileage isn't the same across all components on the bus circuit,it may give you a no bus. It may be accepting it on the one computer and not the other

Use your 5.2 PCM and call it done. Otherwise, you'll have to have the dealer change the vin # in the 5.9 PCM.

And a little FYI, the mileage is stored in the insturment cluster and not the PCM.
