Default help! power steering suddenly went out

So i was doing a pretty tight u-turn to get out of a gas station parking lot, wheels at full lock and something went..truck then died. It started back up but with a squeeling type noise from under the hood, and no power steering. I'm not quite sure where to look for busted parts to diagnose exactly what went out, so any advice would be much appreciated. I was hoping the serp belt just snapped or something, no such luck.... I managed to get it back home, not easy with no power steering, but whatever, and it was making some not so healthy noises the short drive, but it was driveable. Oh. It's a 98, 4x4. 5.2 liter. Sorry for the jumbled post, i just got home and im sick of things going wrong with it lately.

Take off the belt, and try and spin the power steering pump pulley. Its on the drivers side, toward the bottom. The pump itself will have hoses leading to the steering box. Also check and see if you didn't blow a line, are are just out of fluid. (this should be obvious. )

Alright i'll try and do that today. I did a quick check yesterday and it didn't look like any lines blew, and I did have fluid. I mean i heard something under there make almost a snapping noise. But both the u-joints on the steering arm looked fine, so my guess would be power steering pump or the gear box?
