Gonna be a nice rig when you're done, keep at it, and keep us updated with pics.

I also think that 4.88 gearing is going to be a bit on the low (er, high) side. It would be better to go in the 5.xx range. However, I don't know if there is anything above 4.88 made for the 9.25, so that might be something to think about when you swap for beefier axles.

well i ordered 10'' rear lift springs from whiplash yesterday. we'll see how that works out i no they dont have the best reputation.

had 2 quick questions...

1. the front leaf springs only have a 7/16'' bolt in the front and a 9/16'' in the rear. it seems to me that i need a larger bolt for the front. 7/16 seems really small. its what came stock on a chevy tho. is that going to be enough to hold??

2. whats the easiest way the extend the rear brake line between the frame and where it mounts to the axle?

If that's the stock size..... It should be ok..... Not sure what the diameter of the sleeve thru the bushing is, but, I am thinkin' putting a larger caliber bolt in there wouldn't be a bad plan. (use grade 8 hardware though.)

If you are using the original axle, or, even one that came stock with the truck..... (D60,70,80) You should be able to get extended brake lines from any shop that sells lifts.

yeah im using all grade 8 hardware. 7/16'' kinda scares me tho especially since im running large tires. ill have to see about getting diff bushing and such.

i looked at the brake lines for the rear and from what i could see it looked like the brake line couldnt be removed from the hard line. it was just crimped on and didnt unscrew...

It should have a fitting up at the frame, and a little block down on the axle. The line is replaceable, so, it does indeed come off. Look where the hard line hits the soft line. Soft line will pass thru a little bracket, and there will be a flare nut on the hard line. The vent tube holds the lower block on the axle, and the hard lines screw into that.

You can buy an extension to put where the 2 lines connect. A grade 8 7/16 bolt should be plenty. Unless you plan running the truck at Baja or something lol.
