Default jeep trans in ram.. am i mad?

So alot of the keeps came with the ax-15 manual trans. Read stories (multi) about even built 383 and 408 strikers in front of these trans and they cane in most manual keeps including xj, tj, and some cj and some zj...

Ever heard of someone putting this in there truck?
What would it take to make a 2wd nv3500 into a 4wd?

Keep in mind, these are things to do until I can find an nv4500.

I blew my trans... gotta be either rebuilt or swapped.. 4500 in my parts is hard to find due to the bogs and shops around..

is there a place i can learn to rebuild my tranny with some patc parts I figure it about 700 for there cheap kit plus a tc...

Although I don't know whats wrobg with mine...

Goes semi in gear. But it kinda shutters foward, like almost no movement bad. Not as bad but same thing in reverse..

I changed the filfter and fluid again, and tried to adjust the band in the trans, but like I could tigh6 that down all the way until it threaded out the other side. But i can see it moving the drum indie.

Sorry for all typos , on my phone and its retarted

Check J415's trans thread in the faq section. There are some good links to walkthurs for trans rebuilding, among various other resources. We have had several members that have rebuilt their own trans, that have never had one open before.

Good luck "learning" how to rebuild a tranny. Too bad you will need about 2K worth of tools before you start learning.

Don't believe me, take a look at the tranny rebuild walk through here:

You can have tranny shop press the od unit back together. I think that's the hardest part.
