What was wrong with the trans you took out?

I think some of the connector pinouts changed in 98, and again for 2000...... so, it might just be a simple matter of wires not being in the right place.

If the PCM thinks the trans is overheating, it will disable fourth gear.

the tranny that was in it was kicking out of overdrive and the trans temp light would come on a little later. replaced all sensor and seloids and it still did it. now it wont go into overdrive at all.

Still have the check valve in the trans line going to the lower fitting on the radiator? Might be the cause of your overheating issue on the original trans.

Did you replace them with the same ones? Like Hey You stated before, 2nd gen rams have 3 different types of solenoids.
