Default Liking the DF

Just turned 73K original on my Ram 1500 5.9
Enjoying the wealth of info I see on here. Found the DF while surfing the net for info on mods I am considering. I have swirly spacer to put on the intake with a homemade attempt I am going to try for a cold air settup.

I plan to replace stock parts with parts from a Dakota that should give me the clearance I will need for the spacer and then custom adapt to my KN purchased for this project.

The Dakota parts should give me the stock fittings needed for sensors and they were free from someone who spent the $300 or so for the factory KN kit and the filter was cheap on a closeout so I'm about $50 total into it so far.

Anyone out there tried this or have words of wisdom about this project?

Welcome to DF!

Post pics of what ya got, and your process of assembling it.

Don't bother with the spacer if you don't need it, they don't do a damn thing on a port fuel injected motor. (give a nice spot for nitrous though......)

Low mileage Gen 2 Rams rule, just hit 87K on my 98 2500 5.9 gasser.

Ditch the TB spacer....All the go fast parts I "outgrow" on my Dakota R/T end up on the Ram...At least those that won't kill the low end.

Just make sure your CAI is actually cold air, otherwise you're just waisting money...I'd open up the exhaust first. High flow cat, less restrictive muffs and y-Pipe.
