Default 6k for 97?

I'm buying my first truck. I found this close by. Lot's of miles though. I'm not trying to spend a lot in repairs. What do you guys think?

Looks good, has some tasteful mods. Low mileage. (You call 108k high? Psh)
You're gonna need to replace the plenum anyway. And you live in DC so rust is inevitable.

I'd hit it.

Definitely try to negotiate it down at least somewhat. Definitely appears to be a very nice truck, but test drive it, make sure it runs and the transmission shifts flawlessly. If it doesn't, walk away. Tranny rebuilds are expensive. Pictures can also be deceiving at times, make sure and look it over thoroughly.

When you hit 200k miles talk to me about high mileage

When Properly cared for, these trucks can easily go past 200k miles.

Id try and talk this guy down to 5k though, 6 is a bit steep.

Check the spark plugs for anti-freeze (Sign of a blown head gasket)

make sure the tranny fluid does not smell burnt, and is not a dark brownish red color, make sure it also shifts good, does not slip, etc.

there is a 90% chance you will need to replace the plenum ($500ish if you have a mechanic do it, or a whole day, 3 beers, and $50 if you DIY).

I think it's worth 3k, at the most (at least here in AZ)

Its manual which is good but its got the 318 in it, I think the truck looks good in pics and it seems to be well taken care of and has pretty low miles.

But I dont think its worth anywhere near 6k maybe 4k if it was great in person

The 318 is a better engine. It has only slightly less power but better gas mileage (due to higher compression).
