nv4500 5 speed 2wheel change

Default nv4500 5 speed 2wheel change

I need to change my nv4500 2wd. can I use a 4500 from a v10 or diesel or do I have to get one from a 5.9

you will need to use your bell housing if getting from a v10 or diesel. Input shaft will be different between the two, and should be interchangeable. I would do that anyway so you know it will bolt up because I believe some spline changes did occur over the years. Not sure on the output end though. If the donor 4500 is from a 4wd, you will also need your stock tail housing. Other than that... should be about it. Good luck

Is the trans output shaft the same length between 2 and 4 wheel drive?
