question: i plan to do some muddin and trail crossings which may include some high water. have you guys had any issues with hydrolock with this type of air cleaner? it sits pretty high, but i figure that splashing may be an issue.

If you plan on getting in water that will splash up that far I wouldnt recommend it, but you can always take 5 min and throw the stock air hat back on before you go mudding and splashing around in that much water. You can just use one like this for street use and light off road stuff. That is just my opinion some of the others may have a different opinion.

can we agree that the stock airhat will take more than 5 minutes to reinstall? that thing is a major pain.

Yeah I do agree they are a pain and do take a while to install. I was just throwing a # out there. I did not like installing them everytime I needed to change the filter, but all im saying is if you know you are going to hit some big mud holes and water then just change it out. Its all about what you like I guess. I do not take my ram mudding thats what I have my dak for

Would one of the K&N tops that are a filter instead of metal/plastic be beneficial to us? One of http://www.knfilters.com/universal/X-stream.htm these
