Please start your truck after its been sitting cold for a few hours, overnight if possiblem then start er up and wait 3-4 minutes and see if it does the bad idle...Thats when mines doing it, only when cold and after 2-3 mins of idling...

Im glad you got yours sorted out.

Default Me too! Amongst other things.....

I too have this problem. When I bought the truck the rear axle locked up, fixed that, replaced front ball joints, and put up with the low/rough idle. Then the other day it got to where it lost power in the heat and I couldnt take off. I took it to an auto repair and they said they couldnt get any readings off the computer, that I need a new one, go to the dealer. I read that can cost 600 bucks on up!! I took off the computer and some of the leads looked correded, so I cleaned everything up and reassembled. I checked the ECM (Computer) with a multimeter and it failed the test. (Put leads on the #1 and #10 pins in the cab. the needle supposed to go to the right and back, but mine just stayed right) Since then I cannot find a computer (ECM) for my truck anywhere! I found some for an automatic transmission-but not a standard tranny.
I have 1995 slt 5.2 liter (318) with 5 speed standard. Anyone know where I can buy a rebuilt or new computer for this???
