Default 4x4 Question

How do you clean out the solenoid ontop of the Tcase?

My 4x4 is sticking a bit, its hard to get it to go back into 2H after being in 4x4...Sometimes I have to shift Tcase into N then to 2H to get it out of 4x4.

Is it worth trying to clean it maybe?

Check your fluid level first.

Not sure if you can do much with the switch.... could take it off, and see if it moves freely I suppose. Lube it up some??

The 4WD light goes off, but I can still feel the front axle engaged, it stays that way untill I let off the throttle for a second and let it coast for 3-4 seconds, then i feel it disengage.

..if that makes sense?

What does it mean when the light is on/off? even if its on/off can 4x4 still be engaged/disengaged? or when its off is 4x4 for sure off?

The light is activated by the switch on the cad unit. When the actuator pushes over far enough, it turns on the light. (and supposedly, the axle halves are locked together...)

So long as everything is working correctly, the light says the front axle is engaged. If the t-case is also in 4wd, then you have 4x4. The light will have some delay coming on/going off, depending on the condition of the parts in the cad, and how much vacuum ya got.
