The 4WD light goes off, but I can still feel the front axle engaged, it stays that way untill I let off the throttle for a second and let it coast for 3-4 seconds, then i feel it disengage.
..if that makes sense?
What does it mean when the light is on/off? even if its on/off can 4x4 still be engaged/disengaged? or when its off is 4x4 for sure off?

The light is activated by the switch on the cad unit. When the actuator pushes over far enough, it turns on the light. (and supposedly, the axle halves are locked together...)
So long as everything is working correctly, the light says the front axle is engaged. If the t-case is also in 4wd, then you have 4x4. The light will have some delay coming on/going off, depending on the condition of the parts in the cad, and how much vacuum ya got.
