my truck has a slight bog off the line everything is in tip top running condition. Although i did notice some surging at idle. Sensor going out? Any help appreciated.

 

Check your TPS sensor, and fuel pressure. (in that order.)

Na fixed all my vac leaks. How do I check my tps?

 

volt meter. Preferably analog. (the kind with the needle sweep) Should be 1 volt or less at idle, and 3.5 or more at WOT. Sweep should be smooth, and instantaneous with throttle movement. Any hesitation, or bouncing around, and it is bad.

 

TPS is on the drivers side of the TB, remove electrical connection, then unscrew it, see if its gunked up or anything like that, a new one is only about $30 bucks at a parts store.

I believe you can also test voltages, but im not sure.

 

I cleaned my tb really well about 3 thousand miles ago, at that time I removed the sensor and it looked good. Also all I have is a digital volt meter.

 

Give it a shot, and see if it tells you anything interesting. Did you reset the PCM when you pulled the sensor??

 

I'll try the reset, and check the sensor.

 

how do u re-set it?

 

Just disconnect the battery for a couple minutes. The PCM then forgets everything it has learned, and starts the process over again.
