Default Fog lights

Found a set of aftermarket fog lights that will fit in the factory location and replace my broken ones. The new ones are 55 watt halogens and I was wondering if I could just cut the connector off the factory wiring and splice it in to use the factory switch or does it need to have a relay and be wired to battery? Thanks for any advise

I think the factory guys are only 30 something watts.... if that..... so, what ya may wanna do is, have the factory switch control a relay, that actually powers the lights.

I just hooked up a set of fog lights in my 95, and the truck did not come with fog lights so I also bought the OEM switch for it, Then found out it uses a relay as well for the factory fog lights, So I would assume yes, You can just use the factory switch

That would make it easier to just use the factory wiring if out won't hurt anything, maybe I'll try it and check to make sure the switch doesn't get too hot
