noise and loss of power
@ mudshack your cat is clogging or clogged! fix, replace or remove, before the work you did on the plenum is a waste and you have a cracked head or two.
And here is the link for wild vents that a simple search would yield.

Sounds like a bad vacuum check valve for the heater panel.
For the trans, could be a CAT issue for the engine or your something in the trans is loading up. I don't think you have a plenum issue because there is no oil consumption. If you are giving it throttle (WOT) then you will loose vacuum if the check valve is shot. And if the trans is loading up, you are giving more throttle, then you are loosing vacuum hints the check valve.

The vacuum leak has nothing to do with the tranny. But it may effect the way the motor runs, which could indirectly effect the operation of the tranny. So fix the known problems first, then move on to the next.
Well, still got wild vents. No leaks, guess ill just check the check valves when I get home. Truck would only do it till it got warm after the long drive, then it has stopped making noise and holding rev. Runs like a champ now...
Tried the on off 3 times with key thing and can't get a cel read out.
Was windy and rainy, think its time to change plugs and wires. Plugs last got changed at 80k. Wires never.
Any other tune up ideas?

Ya, guess I'm one of the lucky ones that it doesn't work for.
So problem happened on way home from Oregon, ran great first 450 miles. Stopped at rest stop and wouldn't rev up after that. Flashing cel, then solid. Disconnected battery, cel went away, but still drove home under 60 last 200 miles, except up hill was under 40.. going to autozone to use scanner in the morn.

P0304. Missfire on cyl. 4. So new plugs and wires. Had original wires. 106k miles. Plugs were changed about 80k. So time anyways.
Seems to be fine now. Wires didn't look bad, but just old I guess. Plus when I switched plugs last I used autolites. Went back to champions this time.
Does the wire routing really matter? Like if they touch or cross each other?
