I don't think my CAI is a waste. There wasn't a HUGE difference, but it accelerates much smoother than the stock intake, easier to service than the stock intake, definitely less restricted than a stock intake. And most of all it doesn't fall flat on its face at 3k RPM like the factory one does.

CAI's with a metal tube and flimsy heat shield aren't any better than an open element 14x3.

My Ram has a CAI on it...They don't make em anymore, big ceramic coated canister with an inlet to the grill, nothing is open under the hood.

CAI means Cold Air Intake...How can a filter open to the engine bay be cold air...? So yeah, some are better than others.

This is some great info!! Anything else that is worthless to bolt on or use? I can knock off CAI and TB spacer off my list!

I agree 100%

Stock, S&B, Volant, and the Ram Air Box are the only true cold air intake's for these vehicles. That is unless you go with a setup like you have on your Dak.

actually to get back on the subject, the throttle body spacer is awesome........ it makes it F*CKING difficult to put an after market intake on.

This is my TB spacer....

I haven't used it yet because I don't want to spin my stock bottom 360 past 7K, I'm trapping at 6400 now....But, with a forged 408 in the works, and some 3.92 gears. I'ts all good.

EDIT: I know I'm talking about my Dakota, and this a Gen II Ram thread...But it's the same motor and I have a Gen II Ram, so there. BTW...Just converted my Gen II 2500 to a sport model using 97 sport bumpers... SWEET!

But, a throttle body space won't fix that either.

Just let me say this...I've gone from M1 2bbl to M1 4bbl, from Fastman TB to a F&B 55x52 to a F&B 58 TB, 2.5" dual exhaust to 3" dual exhaust, gone from a Martin Saine built 46RE to a built 727, 2800 stall to a 4000 stall, swapped out 4 cams, played with the degreeing of the cams...Played with lifter preload, fuel pressure, I've driven Hemifever crazy with tunes...Had a B&G flashed PCM.....Changed out air cleaner set ups, changed out fuel pumps, ignitions...It's gutted, no AC, no Radio, no headliner. I have phucked with my truck like no one....If a POS TB spacer would give me ANYTHING...It would be on there. Trust me.
Wow, quite the build there. You got any videos?

You need to ask...?

I have 3 Dodge trucks, the 1998 Ram 2500, the 2001 Dakota R/T and a 2004 Dakota 4x4...All Flame Red. Funny thing is, I bought the 2004 new from a dealer (I wanted white, they didn't have one), the other two I bought off EBAY. They just happened to be red...

Just this video of me killing a 440 Demon on the tree...He lost.
