Default drum brake trouble

I have a 97 dodge ram 2500 4x4 that I recently purchased was told it had new shoes and spring kits. About once a week I half to back off the right rear slack adjuster. I have looked at diagrams and compaired both sides and have not found any thing different does any body have a idea.

You'll want to confirm that it's not in backwards and that its the correct direction screw thread. It may be tightening every time you apply the brakes in the forward direction, as opposed to tightening when the brakes are applied in the reverse direction.

I'm referring to the adjuster.

If the adjuster arm should push down on the slack adjuster to tighten it I think it is right.

how do the shoes look? They aren't soaked with 80w90 are they? (gear lube)

Usually, these trucks have just the opposite problem..... have to manually adjust the rears occasionally.

Does the funny little arm that engages the the adjuster, also hold it in place? Or is it a bit sloppy?
