Safer maybe in the sense of having more than enough power to pull 6,000lbs. My main reason for wanting to increase my pulling power is so that I won't just barely be able to haul 2 quads on the bed of my truck while towing a light 25' camping trailer.

I was scraping and had 4100lbs on the first load and 5080lbs on the second handled it like a champ. Then I was towing about 9,000lbs with everything loaded in the bed of the parts truck.

I can't quite make it out from your pictures but I suspect your truck is a 2500 or 3500, which is a much more powerful truck than a 1500. I wish I had known that much about trucks before I bought mine because I probably would have bought one of those big ones instead.

For now though and for the forseeable future I plan to get by with my 1500 while making it as good as I can. Should be good enough for me unless someday I somehow manage to be able to afford a very big camping trailer and a more powerful truck to pull it with.

It is a 2500 but has 1500 axles and suspension (long story HeyYou knows) the frames are all the same so its basically a 1500.

Diesel engine? Or V10? Or stroked 360? I'm shocked that a 1500 can haul and tow that much even with a heavier duty 2500 frame! Unless it has one of those bigger engines, maybe. Shocked I tell you!

So far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as "too much" power. And the safety thing is more about STOPPING your heavy load, not getting/keeping it moving. (granted, being able to do so DOES make it 'safer', but, ONLY if you can also STOP said load.)

I agree. Stopping is important! More important than going because when it isn't going it is already stopped and getting it stopped is, as I said, important.

Stock 360 with headers. The 2500 and 3500 frames are threw same thickness as the 1500 frames fyi I even compared them myself

Isn't that why they make cars? Trucks run into them to stop right....? If not everyone around me has been driving wrong lately...

Okay I've heard that from enough other people now that I am going to go ahead and believe it. Something to do with those good ol' days and how things were different back then than they are now, regarding truck frames. And this is good for me to know about my 1500 framing.

I'm thinking of adding headers to my 360 too, someday, but first I'm thinking I should improve my air induction system, maybe by adding the airgap and throttle body from Hughes engines. I just recently discovered Hughes website, and this one too, so I'm reading up on as much as I can before I start subtracting some big numbers from my bank account.
