desperately need help with my truck

ok tranny is drained and dripping dry. tranny pan is cleaned up. got new filter to instal along with a gasket for the tranny. where is the best point to fill the tranny from and how much fluid should i put in there? diff are next. got my trickle charger on there now. hopefully going to turn the motor over wiith no spark plugs in today to see if there is any water still in there. gotta chase down whats draining my battery to while im at it. thank god for beer its going to be a long day

Uhh, the dipstick tube. Start off with 3 quarts and keep checking the level while running and in neutral.

Huh? You need a damn manual bud. Put the pan back on, pour 3 quarts in it and check it as described.

didnt actually. thanks for the info. looks like i got a buddy bringing me a jack and jackstands so brakes will be done this weekend to hopefully the manuel will come in handy

It sure will. And just a tip, do one side at a time, so you can reference the other side if something gets screwed up.

ok finally got to the point where i decided to turn the motor over and see if i could get any water to shoot out of the cylinders. guess what? some did, along with some little black chunkies varying in size from little spots to about 1/8th inch. dunno what they are. grease, or carbon build up? good news is is no grinding or unusual noises with the engine turning. will turn the engine over again in about an hour to see if there is any water left over in the cylinders.

the previous owner of the truck used some sort of super duper sealent on the diffs so back to fighting to get those off......
