Default Gear Oil Leaking

I crawled under the truck to change the oil on my 98 Ram 1500, V8, 5 speed and noticed gear oil all over the underside and dripping. I've attached pics to help identify. Help!

Trans fluid. (what they put in the t-case) Drop the rear driveshaft, pull the tailshaft housing, check that your snap ring is still in place (and if it isn't, fix that....) and replace that seal on the end of the tailshaft.

Black thing IS the seal. Snap ring is back by where the housing bolts to the t-case. Right in front of the bearing. Once you have the housing out, it will be obvious.

Check the fluid in your t-case. (it sure doesn't take a lot of fluid to make a BIG mess.) Top it off. Deal with it when you get home.
