Need to make sure you didn't overfill the system then. There should be a chart on the side of the can, with temp vs. pressure.

I honestly couldnt tell you if the compressor kicked on I've always hear it in other vehicles but I didnt hear but I'm not sure if it just didnt kick on or if it was from all the engine noise. I think I'm going to run the ac for a min and see if it kicks on.

the pressure will be high when u put the freon in because u have over 100PSI in the can it has to over come the 40 that the system makes inorder for it to get sucked into the system Hook it back up and see what the low side is when u have the ac on.

gauge was on zero like it should be before i put it on the line. Then i put it on the line and turned the ac on and it was on 74. then the ac stayed on 74 for 5 mins or so. then when i took it off some pressure came out and now the gauge is on 25 psi. I'm assumiong the compressor is screwed then?

Sounds like you either let too much out, or you have a serious leak somewhere.
