Default tire sizes

my friend has a truck that he has lift kits sitting in his room waiting on tires..
he has a 20x10 rim and he wants to find some tires within this range (36" high - 38" high) x (13+" wide) we know the normal sizes like 37x13.5x20 but we know thats not the only choice, such as metric sizes. we want a MUD TERRAIN tire around the above sizes, with a tire that lasts pretty good.

TRYING TO STAY UNDER 1400ish

the lifts:
(6" suspension)
(3" body)

he can put one, the other, or both lifts on..
thanx guys

I spent about 15 minutes looking the cheapest M/T tire I saw was the Nitto Mud Grapplers 37x13.50R20 from discount tire direct. I bought my terra grapplers from there, they were the cheapest at the time too. and the mud grapplers in my opinion is the best looking mud tire. The total was $1649 free shipping http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...sw=false&cs=37
hope this helps

Might sound picky. But he hates the mud grappler because they howl too much and they don't last.

Any MT is gunna have the life span of cheap ***** and I would be willing to bet that since the tires are sitting on a 20 inch rim the truck never gets dirty. Tell him to pick up a good AT tire as a lot of those have pretty aggressive tread pattern are cheaper and have better life span.

If 'stock' means 3.55s..... He is going to HATE that with 36inch or larger tires..... (he would hate it with 33's.......) That is also going to seriously tax the trans, which is weak to begin with...... For those size tires, he really should be going to 4.88s..... which i think is the lowest you can get for one end or the other...... and even that might not be enough..... The dana 44 front axle on these trucks isn't of the best design..... (from the balljoints out....) and the huge tires are going to positively EAT front end parts, especially the hub/bearing units...... better buy stock in the company that makes 'em...... In all reality, 35's are about as big as you should go on those axles....... (and then just skip the body lift. won't need it.)
