Default Question about an E-fan.

Now that summer is here my truck is starting to run a bit hot, worse than ever actually, I know my radiator is about to crap the bed but I am strapped for expendable income due me having to drive from LA to VA beach, due to being separated from the Navy. I run at just over 200 90% of the time. My issue comes when I am stopped or in slow moving traffic the temp creeps up to about 230-245 I can bring it back down by holding the brake and keeping the RPM's at about 1100 to 1300, this does not agree with my gas tank at all.

I was thinking abut an E-fan placed on the front of my radiator as a push fan with an on/off switch in the cab that I can flick on when there is a lack of air flow. Or just having it run full time. My question is will having the mechanical fan pulling and an e-fan pushing screw up air flow while running at highway speeds or cancel each other out at slow speeds and while stopped.

I know the offroad guys run push fans instead of the pull but they also run at much slower speeds.

How would I check the fan clutch. I am gunna be putting a 180* t-stat back in it tonight to help out.

All $642 of it. Most of it will prolly go to gas. The Navy decided it would be smart to lower the amount of upfront cash you get. I got $1300 upfront 4 years ago when I drove from New Orleans to LA about 2200 miles. LA to VA beach is 2700 miles and I get squat.

I am also a single E-4 with no dependents, although this would not be the first time they screwed me over on money. When I moved from NO to LA they gave me 800 upfront then when I asked about it the day I left they realized they owed me another 600+.

Make sure the gas tank is full when you get your full weight and your tank empty when you get the empty weight, also if you need to make weight or if you want more without going over your max allowed weight for your rank, find fifty gallon drums and fill with water, sand bags work well too. Just don't over you max allowed weight or you won't get paid for anything over that.
