materials list for remote turbo
hey guys im going to be turboing my 318 i know STS makes a remote kit for a base price of 2K? i was wondering if it was cheaper to fab up my own turbo kit, as in buying and acquiring parts from various places?? has anyone done this?? i would really like some guidance. cuz right now im a little stuck
Need to be able to mount the turbo, plumb the exhaust into/out of it, filter the incoming air, and plumb the pressurized air to the intake.... also need to run an oil line to the turbo, or, set up its own independent system....... Might wanna PM Hahn's5.2 (or similar username......) and see if he can post some more pics of his.
You need an Air hat, BOV, Wastegate, tubing (I used 2 1/2" aluminized) along with various mandrel bends, oil line (I like Push-Lok hose and Fragola AN fittings), check valves with a 1-5PSI "cracking pressure" so oil doesn't flow into the turbo when you shut the truck off, turbo flange, scavenging oil pump (the only one worth using is the Turbowerx Exa-pump), various silicone tubing couplers with T-bolt clamps and probably more stuff I'm forgetting. Here's a link to my build thread for now https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...rbo-build.html
