Replaced tailgate cables. Is this this normal stance of the gate?

I saw threads on how to replace and too long of cables, but mine seem to be too short?

Nope, Those are too short by like 1-2".

I think you have it clipped too high.
Is it clipped to the latch peg?
You need to move the bed mount to lower mounting point.

you are correct sir! guess it didn't help that there weren't any on there for me to take off

Aren't the mounts on the bed about two inches lower than where you have them?
