checking transducer/governor assy p1756

Default checking transducer/governor assy p1756

ok so my trans issues continue dispite 4 shops and way too much time.
im stuck in limp mode again and can write a novel on trans problems iv had since xmas. now got code p1756 again the transducer od and governor assy and internal harness were recently replaced and have that code again. just droped the pan cleaned governor new filter and refilled for no improvement. now check light on code p1756. wasnt on before just in limp mode. i was thinking getting gm replacement kit and have no problem getting transducer and stuff again if it will fix this once and for all. maybe they were bad maybe not i dont know. i have no problem spending money to fix it but cant find a good shop and just dont want to **** my money away replacing good parts. how do you test these parts?

P1756 Gov Press Not Equal to Target @ not15-20 PSI

Is there a lot of crap in the pan when you pull it to clean the gov sensor?

verry little on magnet maybe cleanest trans iv seen. but was allegedly opened up 2 weeks ago

I assume you've checked the plug and traced the wires looking for damage?

Is it possible the governors are actually working and the line pressure is not adjusted correctly? Should be 1psi per 1mph in third gear on level ground with minimal throttle and OD locked out. You'll need a scanner to read it while driving.

it can be adjusted with just a pan drop if you grind down or cut off most of the short end of an allen wrench. I think its 3/16" if memory serves me. The screw is located on the drivers side, there is a small plate and spring. Moving the plate in and out via the screw controls another valve that governs the line pressure.

Line pressure and governor pressure dont affect each other. They change independently, adjusting that line pressure screw will just give you firmer shifts.

I dont think there is away to adjust governor pressure. Ill check when I get to the shop but I think the 1756 code could also mean bad computer.
