Default More performance?

Just curious, but after I repair the plenum plate and gasket in my truck, will it help the performance some? An app on my phone that reads diagnotics and that type of stuff said around 180 hp, thinking it should be more though... Wondering if the repair will bring that up some

Depends on how badly it's blown and what shape the cats in.

The cat is in pretty good shape, had it checked about a month ago. And I've noticed a pretty good loss in oil, so the plenum is pretty blown up

Do cap/rotor/wires/plugs while you have the intake off. I think stock, these guys are only rated at 240 or so?? Your app is probably reading rear wheel horsepower..... so, that number isn't too far off. You WILL pick up some giddyup though. If you have over 100k miles on it, consider doing the timing chain and gears/water pump as well. That fix alone made a BIG difference in how my truck ran.

Cap, rotor, and wires actually look pretty new, and just did the plugs not even 1000 miles ago so that's good. Did the timing chain to when we put in a new radiator, so I'm good on that lol glad to hear it'll help it get up and go more!

Once you have it all put back together, if your pre-cat O2 sensor is old..... replace that as well. Won't help much in the way of performance, maybe... but, might boost fuel economy a bit.

Sounds like you have everything else pretty much covered already. One thing, if you are eating a lot of oil, check the plugs anyway.

I might do that thanks. And the when I checked the oil, it was barely in the safe zone. The safe zone is 2 quarts so I put a quart in it to hold me over until we do the plenum then I'm gonna do another oil change

So are you saying to replace the water pump?
