Default Loud Acceleration and Idle

I'm currently on vacation and noticed that my truck has gotten a bit loud while idling or whenever I accelerate (not so much rough, just loud).

The check engine light isn't on. I'm due for an oil change soon, but the level is fine.

My speed or other functions aren't being impaired by the issue.

Any advice on what I can check while I'm out of town?

Do you mean exhaust is louder? Idling faster making it seem louder? I think we may need some more info to help you.

maybe you have a hole rusted in the muffler.
maybe your hearing has improved. LOL.

you're on vacation... have a cold beer and quit worrying about your truck.

Ha! I know I should be relaxing, but I'm dependent on my truck for getting back home (six hour drive).

The best I can describe it is my truck sounds like an old VW Beetle in terms of loudness when I accelerate or just at an idle.

I noticed it after driving the six hours across a hot desert to get to my vacation destination.

At first I thought it might be my fuel injection or that my truck didn't like the gasoline I put in, but I've done a couple of things and they haven't made a difference. I'm hoping that it is just a muffler as that won't be too expensive compared to a cat converter.

But, other than the loudness, she drives just fine it seems.

Probably just some exhaust problem or other, so long as it isn't making rude noises, don't worry 'bout it till ya get home.

Turned out to be a missing screw from my exhaust manifold causing all the noise. So happy it's not something more expensive.
