I think 3500 to 4000.00 is closer to reality. The Mileage is going to kill you.
+1.....

well, i just lost all faith in kbb.com
i went through the details of your 2500, with everything, including the 212000 miles.
i was expecting a retail of about $6k, private party of about $5k, and trade-in of about $3500-4000.

that silly *** sites lists retail of 8800, private party of 6800, and trade in of 4800.
i'm sure your truck is very nice, but i don't think it will bring that much.
used car values are up a lot, but not that much.

Nobody is gonna want to touch the truck for $6 grand, with 200k+

Did you add the mileage into the KBB, but either way im thinking somewhere around 4k might get some hits

I've always gotten a kick out of the rediculously high prices guys think they can charge for a high mileage Cummins...Sure the motor "might" last longer, but the rest of the truck is still a *ducking* Dodge Ram...

NADA says:

Average Trade in: 4025.00

Clean Retail: 7550.00

That would be for where I live though... and that assumes the body is in pretty much pristine condition, no rust, no dents, no major scratches.

Well the body is not perfect. I've been doing a lot of work to the body thought. I just dropped the price to 5500. See what happens.

The area around me is known for inflated (relative to the rest of the nation) truck prices, and the $tealerships are asking around $5k or so for trucks very similar to yours in options and miles.

Realistically I'm afraid your asking price is to high, as others have stated. $4k-$5k may be more in the ball park.

KBB is inflated for dealerships, they are rarely realistic anymore. NADA is the most commonly used one, Edmunds is even better but so realistically priced most dealerships get mad at you for even mentioning the name.

I guess I was lucky, I bought mine off an elderly man in 2010 for 2500. it only had 86000 miles. He said his wife was making him sell it because he shouldn't be driving.

But for OP that truck with those miles in LA, lower arkansas, sells retail at around 3k-3500. When we carry them to auction they bring about 800.
