Track bar question...
I need to replace the track bar on my truck, and I was wondering if it is possible to rebuild it instead of spending a bunch of money for a new one. This may seem like a stupid idea, but I am just curious if anybody has ever tried.
Of course I understand there may be safety issues involved, so it may not be the best idea. I want to see what opinions I get.
I did see from a search that Moog is the most recommended brand of replacement part. On Advance Auto's site, I think it was right around $153. There was one on there for about $400 that is adjustable, but I don't have any intention of paying THAT much.

There's a kit called lukes link to rebuild it but it's just a bad design. Look into one with heim joints from topguncustomz or thurren and you'll never have a problem again. I put a replacement one on mine before I lifted it and it didn't last 6 months and was clunking again. 400 now is better than 150 every couple months.
that's not that bad of a deal. besides from seeing your other post. the trac bar takes on alot of punishment with the slight lift. I have already planned on getting the trac bar(BDdiesil's)adjustable up to 4inch lift.
Heim joints wear really fast if your daily driving it. They are better made for crawlers. Less than a year youll be back where you started. Get a new track bar, if your running a lot of lift [4" or more] get an adjustable track bar. That is one of my next buys for my latest build
