Springs won't affect lifters, but those springs and retainers will leave the for open for a cam should you choose to do something later on. You had mentioned changing springs earlier.

if I had it to do over, I would have probably gone with 1.92 valves for my 318, and I would recommend to anyone not looking to run high revs or a cam over .550 lift to keep the valve size smaller for better torque down low whether it be a 318 or 360.

Ya I was think 1.92 heads . Thinking clear water heads . I dunno if I want to fix the truck really . My luck I would rebuild the top end and something on the bottom end would break . Going on 148xxx miles ... I know jasper motors run new at 3 thousand . Do you guys know if the have anything to upgrade when you buy it like bored out or better heads ? I already have airgap and 1.7 hs
