Question performance cpu or fastman tb

Im purchasing a hughes intake today for my 95 2500. I have just enough to get the fastman or a cpu. Was wanting to hear some suggestions on which way to go. Its 2wd I don't race or anything but I do tow a tri axle 5th wheel camper with it. (and the gd smokey mountains suck btw lol) Mostly doing this upgrade because Im getting the kegger suck noise from time to time at red lights. (rough idle comes with it of course) Got to make another run over Jelico mountain to get my camper out of storage and don't want to be maxed out at 35mph and have that kegger plate blow out.

he cant its a 95. If your looking at a MP pcm they tell you not to tow with them for some reason. It also says to run high test fuel, I love mine but had to take it back out because of my blown plenum. When I pull my motor and get the cam and heads and everything done I will put it back on.

The reason they tell you not to tow with them is because a Performance Tune and Tow Tune are two different things. The Mopar Performance PCM has a Performance Tune on it.

You can do light towing, just nothing substantial. I towed a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra with a performance tune, didn't bother the truck at all. That car weighed in at about 3000 lbs. I used a tow strap to get it about 2-3 miles down the road to a repair shop (at the time it belonged to my little brother).

Anywhere near the 5000-7000 lbs area, I'd recommend the original factory tune or a tow tune (if possible). So keep the original PCM around to tow with, just in case.

And yes, you will need to use 91/92/93 octane fuel 100% of the time with the Mopar Performance PCM.

.
When I called about them I was told you can not do any towing with it in not even a utility trailer with a lawn mower on it but I was going to do it anyway. But I would not tow a camping trailer with the MP PCM hooked up.

Are there any computers out there with a towing tune for a 95 5.2?

I have been towing with a mopar performance pcm for over 10 years and have not had any issues when doing so, yes you must use 91 plus when towing, and you must use your head as well other than that its works fine for towing. I towed everything from small boats to a 7000lbs 5th wheel. All this was in the Rocky mountians were I live. Go for the pcm upgrade its well worth it.

When I am not towing with the truck I run 89 gas in it and it works ok, just don't use mom and pop gas, gas must be of good Quality.
