Default Gears for my 1997

i'm running 35's and do 0-60 in 2 weeks. As far as gears go what is reccommended. How big can I or should I go? This is for my daily driver/fishing truck/hunting truck. Havent been hunting in a few years so I'll be doing most of my wheeling at the beach. Was thinking about a rear locker as well.

I got pretty much the same setup
318, 35" tires and am running 4.88 gears - It's not my daily driver though.
But if you don't drive too much I think 4.88 would be just fine.
With 35" tires 4.10 might be too low.
So you're choice is between 4.56 and 4.88.
For me even traveling at 70mph on the freeway, motor is doing about 2600 rpm.
Locker is a different story - it really depends on what you can afford.
I went less expensive (Detroit Locker) route and got Powertrax No-slip locker that installs inside of your carrier.
Hope this helps
Good luck with your project

4.56 will be closest to stock...... 4.88 will give you a bit more bottom end torque. If you do a lot of highway driving, stick with the 4.56.

Ok, ran some numbers.....

Tire size, gear ratio, RPM @ 70mph
245s (stock?) 3.55, 1889

35's, 3.55, 1646

35's, 4.10, 1901

35's, 4.56, 2114

While the 4.56 seem to put you higher than what you think you want to be, it actually puts the engine higher into the torque curve, so, you get a bit better mileage than you would think.
