If you are going to rebuild it anyway..... and the price is right..... go for it.

I would replace the heads though. You can get better than stock replacements for under 300 each. You can get bigger valve heads for under 500 each. Just depends on what ya wanna do with your truck.

Yeah I looked up the specs on the cam a little bit and I would have to get new valve springs and all that good stuff, so I think I might lean towards the EQ Monster heads through Odessa's ebay page, those will have plenty of clearance for the new cam and better flow overall. I have a budget of around 1200-1400 including the price for the engine so it's still a toss up.
