very hard, not worth it. you'd need a donor truck with 2500/3500 suspension, drive train, wiring, fuel system, on and on.

sell the gasser, buy a diesel.

If the frame isn't damaged, (or, too badly damaged for that matter.....) I would be much more tempted to swap body parts around. That oil burner is one heavy hunk of iron. Your half ton suspension will be cryin' under all that weight.

Not saying it can't be done, as several folks HAVE done it.... just a lot of work.... and you end up spending more money than if you had just found a decent running truck with the diesel already in it.

You would need the engine, trans, PCM, wiring harness for both engine, and trans, (since you are going from auto to manual, right?) transfer case, if 4x4, (and then you would have to something about the driveshafts..... maybe) Pedal hangers, clutch stuff. (hydraulic, I do believe) and the entire fuel system...... It's a boat load of work.

You would also need to transfer the front springs from the diesel as well, as it weighs a bunch more than the gas engine. Those heavy duty shocks wouldn't hurt either.
