Default 3rd gen Swapping of the seats PICS !!!!!

SOooooo today i decided to tackle a nice little project i had been putting to the the side for a couple of months now. That would be swaping out my old torn smelling 2nd Gen vinyl seats to pretty fresh 3rd Gen cloth seats. and heres some pics of how it went...

starting with the passenger seat ofcourse i removed the seat and the center console.

Old seat had a good run (245,000 miles)

New seat Gotta love the head rest lol

Bottom of old seat removed mounting bracket

Comparing the seats... EYE ON THE PRIZE lol

Comparing the 2 different mechanisms/bracket apparatuses or whatever u wana call them... this part gave me a headache
after countless minutes of analysis i decided i need to construct some sort or subframe that would allow the OEM 3rd gen seat brackets to sit on and be at the correct height and mount to floor like the OEM 2nd Gen seats and so on so fourth Ect.Ect.Ect..... Lots of MEASURING !!!!!!!!!

Beginning stages of my subframe.. not best pics i know

ITS ALIVE !!!!! lol

Remember people not fished product yet lol so be nice on comments

Default Well Worth the Time and Effort

it took me about 4 hours to get the passenger seat in but i had no idea what i was getting myself into. driver seat will probably be half time now. definitely worth the time, effort and hassle, the seat feels amazing and looks amazing in the truck (at least in my opinion lol) and its super nice finally having an adjustable head rest.

ill be doing the driver seat probably on Sunday being that i live in Miami and supposedly there's a hurricane coming. ill be sure to take more pics of the Subframe i had to construct.that way everyone has an idea of what they might have to do.

HOPE THIS THREAD HELPS !!!!

Maybe you could make a few extra sets of brackets and sell them to the people who would like to do this swap too?

Yeah I would be willing to buy some, hell you could even just draw the stuff up in CAD and sell the plans.

food for thought... ill definitely look into drawing up some plans if people are truly interested. the sad thing is the materials i used were pretty expensive, 1/4 inch steel all round with grade 8 3/8 bolts to hold the seats to the subframe...
