We are suffering through one hell of a heat wave right now in Texas.

At 108*-110* outside, what's coming off the street might easily be 125*-130*. There isn't much cooling capacity in 50* degrees difference from the air and what the truck is trying to maintain.

I'm barely staying under the 210* mark on the temp gauge as well. I don't know if there is much we can do about it right now, save not drive if possible. I did add some of that purple ice stuff made by royal purple and it seems to delay how quickly it get there, but nothing is going to stop it. Redline makes a Water Wetter product that works OK as well, I just couldn't find any when I went looking.

The third gen camaro/firebird guys swear by Water Wetter. The cooling systems in the F-bodys were friggin marginal from the factory......

I agree, just having a hard time finding anything down here. A seems everybody is having issues with older vehicles.

Hopefully the royal people stuff works as well. I'm really hoping going to a full shroud with a larger second fan will help the cause. The larger alternator I put in should be able to handle it.

Yesterday the transmission pan gauge got up to 202* and coolant was just below the 210* mark by about 1/16". I pulled over and let the e fans blow over it for about 3 minutes, then cycled the engine for about 20 seconds to push that cooler coolant and oil in. did that about 3 times and was good to get home. Just want to get it taken care of in case I really get stuck in some nasty traffic.
