Default accumulator piston

is there a second spring that goes on top of the accumulator piston in addition to the short fat spring that goes between the valve body and the piston? and how would the transmission act if that spring was "missing", any input is greatly apriciated. im trying to find out why i lost o/d again and ive ALREady replaced the govenor set and the o/d solenoid set and my wiring is good

Yes, there is a skinny inner spring as well. 2001 service manual, page 21-538 has a nice little diagram.

how would it affect the tranny if that spring missing?

Some transmission came with the small accumulator spring and some didn't. You may not notice a shifting problem without it, But if you want to buy one and try it. The mopar part number is 4617529.
