Default camshafts

i was thinkin about puttin a different camshaft in my tuck to give it a tad more spunk but i dont really know what the best one would be. i did a quick search on here but didnt really find any good solid info. id like to be able to use one with a stock setup so i dont have to do a ton of work.

Go with the harland sharp 1.7 ratio roller rockers then. Good for a few more ponies, and pretty easy to do. Doing a cam, ya gotta dig pretty deep into the motor. Not so for the rockers. Pull the valve covers, swap 'em out, and down the road ya go.

Do the HS non adjust 1.7s....Cam is gonna need new valve springs etc.

EDIT: How many miles on your 96...You might need springs anyway.

If anyone knows off the top of their head, how much do those harland 1.7 rollers cost? and what is the difference between them and the stock ones?

And dont think im stupid, its just not my area of expertise, old tractors are my area

Stock ratio is 1.6, HS rockers are 1.7. So, you get a bit more lift, and duration at .050. Basically, the rockers make the cam a tad bit bigger.

They can be had for right around 300 bucks from summit, or jegs. Check other places like Rock Auto though, sometimes you can catch a sale.

Most reports I have seen are right around 10 HP and torque to the rear wheels.
