Default 4WD Question

Last night I had to pop my truck in 4WD to climb a hill, after I was finished I put it back in 2WD and all was well. This morning on my way to work I noticed the 4WD shift handle was moving whenever I gave it gas. Whether I was in drive or reverse, is this normal or am just gun shy as my transmission has been acting up lately.

The shifter is mounted to the trans/t-case, so, if they move, so does the shifter. If you have some mounts that are questionable, you will see more movement.... The rear trans mounts seem to be the weak link here. Check that, if it's ok, don't worry about it.

I asked this question myself a few years back here on DF. It's pretty normal. I even changed the tranny mount and it made no difference. But that's what I would check.

I was thinking my last dodge did it also but wasn't sure, but I can always count on getting a good opinion here. Thanks for the quick answers guys

That issue came up with my 98. I just got back from driving the 2000 before I replied the first time. And to tell you the truth, I have never noticed it in this truck. I'll pay attention next time and see what it does. It obviously has to move some, but the question would be how much. That's why I think you should check the tranny mount.
