Trouble with a wheel adapter is, unless you correct for the additional width of the adapter when choosing front wheels, you are going to go thru bearings faster than normal. Now, will that necessarily cost more than what you would spend to get the 'right' stuff up front? I don't know. I still think your best bet is to find a donor vehicle, and take the measurements as suggested by Merc, and if things match up, just grab the parts from the yard. If those are still spindles, and tapered roller bearings, that you can actually hold in your hand, and replace as individual parts, you should be golden. If they are the hub/bearing assembly, I would consider new ones as part of the install.

I personally don't think it's worth the trouble.

The first place to start is with the balljoint tapper if they are diff the 2500 spindles will not fit. Your best freind is a good parts dealer that is willing to spend some time doing a cross referance of parts for you. What i am trying to find for you is the diff between the two spindles dia and the like, you might be able to just put the 2500 hubs on the 1500 spindles. This is taking me some time to find that info.

i yes, extra weight capacity. i tow occasionally with livestock bein in the rodeo business and ag. also a boat, and a trailer to the deerlease. with my 1500 now i have i leveled and it squats like no other (this is alot because of the leveling kit it makes it seem worse than it is but still). selling the truck is not an option, i plan on keeping this truck for a while a good while! i love these body styles of the 2nd gens not to mention i am a freshman in college at Texas A&M and i dont quite have extra money laying around. and there is nothing mechanically wrong with the truck at this moment.
