97 ram 1500 4x4 5.9L
little history on the truck. Its got 300,000 miles on it. Its lifted 6" with 36 bfg's A/T. Its on its third transmission. On this last go around I had a transmission cooler run from the front and it really seemed to keep the heat down. Ive had this one for 60,000 miles.....sooo my issue is about 16 months ago I finally had the plenum gasket blow and it was a catration of power. To make things worse while i was trying to diagnose the engine standing in the engine bay my foot loosend one of my tranmission lines...so the next drive i took it on ended up dumping the transmission fluid all over the street. At that point i put into storage until just last month. Ive already fixed the plenum and did a full tune up while i was in there and the motor sounds like new and runs smoother than ever. when the incedent happened i filled the transmissin up with fluid after i realized it dumped it self on the street. so when i went to drive it yesterday i added a bottle of lucas transmission fix to top it off. Took it for a spin and success! It drives and switches into all gears as well as reverse. Im extremely happy that it even drives as well as it does at this point.
But it feels like im its not as "catchy" as it used to be in terms of acceleration. I remember before that i could easily peel out if not carefull...not so much now. Its almost like i would have a hard time towing something. So ive already decided that im going to flush it tomorrow and pull the pan to replace the filter. Is there anything else i should replace while in there? Ive read that there is a particular solinoid that goes out often on these and will affect shifting and what not.
Thanks for reading my essay

Get the Lucas out of it. ATF +4 only. You can remove the Governor Solenoid and clean it as well. Adjust the tv cable too, https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-in-trans.html

Yea i will definatly look into that. Also I noticed this while under my truck yesterday and snapped some pics....Im thinking is a vacuum line for my 4 wheel drive but im hoping others can clarify.

would this broken line cause my 4x4 to not work? probably 2 years ago i fried a solinoid of some sort while in 4x4 trying to escape a muddy ditch. Im thinking more and more this was the main cause.

Yep, that's for 4wd. The CAD assembly on the axle. http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/repair/..._engagment.htm
