trans solenoid question

Default trans solenoid question

i got a quick question, since i dont have money for a new/remanufactured solenoid i want to get one from the junk yard and im wondering will any solenoid from 96 thru 01 4speed/5speed work on my 96 4 speed auto laramie?

96-98. I REALLLY would caution against using a bone yard solenoid. Just bit the bullet and get a new one. The bone yard solenoid is gonna mess up the second you need to be somewhere ASAP.

where could i get it the cheapest tho?

dont know the correct name i just call it the solenoid. its the 2 sensors right under the trans pan in the 46re

unless you have an rh iirc there are 3 electrical bits under the pan

Are you thinking of the gov pressure solenoid?

If so you could try to remove it and take it apart and clean it.
There is a DIY in the FAQs.

just dont loss the mirco ball like i did , hehe.

True, but only 2 are solenoids and 1 is a sensor...so that eliminates 1.

True but alottaa folks here cant tell the differnce unless theve delt with them lol, and the op thought there were 2 sensors
