Default FUEL PUMP AND AIR CONDITIONER QUESTIONS

98 Dodge RAM 4x4 1500

Two questions - and thanks in advance.

1) I hear the fuel pumps commonly go out after 100,000 miles? Is this true and should I have it replaced as a safety precaution?

2) I have a slow A/C leak, I'm told it may be the evaporator which is a $1,000 job. Does that sound right to you?

Can't comment on the fuel pump. Never had any issues with mine (94 ram 1500 with 168,000 miles).
I can suggest adding a R134a coolant with "stop leak: in the ac system. Worked for my leaks. Cost about 15.00 witih a hose to add it yourself.
Good Luck

That's a little high for an evaporator...I had mine done a the dealership and it was less than $800.

My fuelpump went bad at about 110,000. My tank was 3/4 of the way full so I opted to take the bed off instead of dropping the tank.
