What kind of dyno was it?

The stock dodge 5.9L engine puts out 245HP, and 330 ft/lbs of torque. Drive train loss is 25.6%. Hp and torque numbers are too high.
Agreed, that dyno is optimistic, to say the least.

So you're likely going to measure just the gain of when the fan is mostly freewheeling, compared to the much higher potential gain when it's locked up and moving a lot of air.

I can't wait for my Grand Cherokee fan to show up and get it installed.
are you the one who plumbed a t in your heater core line to add a temp sensor? If so do you think that t restricts coolant flow.

I have 2 Tee's in my heater hose, one for the mechanical gauge and one for the standalone computer. They don't restrict flow, at least not noticeably as far as I'm concerned

Default dyno has variables between each make and model...

So you doubting thomas's out there. Hot rod mag did a dyno tester with a S/C mustang if i remember correctly. in which the went around cali and hit up 5 different dyno in several hours. There numbers were like 30-60 different in Horse power and 25-60 diffenence in torque. At different sites elevation and make and models of the dyno. All three of my runs were with in 3hp and 3 lbs/ft of torque.

not stock if you can read!!!
spectre CAI and flowmaster exhaust muffler delete....

A CAI and no muffler would not account for any noticable gain in power like that

yeah.. but we don't know what kind of stickers he's running either.. they add up fast you know.

some dyno machines are purposely optimistic.. it's a matter of showing folks what they want to see, and bringing them back.. it's sorted.. it's not cool.. you may want to ask around about reputations..

Weather it not be the right dyno, if be does the same dyno it will be accurate with the new mods he puts on. I'll be watching this thread as you doing the mods I have . Wish I have 4.10 though

just to shut you Na Sayer up I will go and find another dyno... twin cities just suck for them ,or at least poorly represented. I think there might be another one here. will travel to another state if needed to prove not a big difference. BTW no power stickers adders. me blowing by you, will be all you have to see to know its not stock.

Alright, I was going to be nice, but you are clearly uneducated on your knowledge of vehicles.

Here's the bottom line:

That cai and muffler gained you about 10hp and 10 ft/lbs. of torque at the maximum. Your truck, bone stock produces 245HP and 330 ft/lbs. of torque maximum, when it's new.

So, if you had an absolutely fresh block and the "mods" you've done, you'd have absolutely at a maximum 255HP and 340 ft/lbs. of torque, at the flywheel, not the pavement.

You, I, and everyone else that had the stock transmission is subject to the same drive line loss, it is inescapable. Right around 26%. 26% of 255/340 is 189HP/252 ft/lbs. to the wheels. Your numbers don't hold water. If you don't believe me, start searching various forums where guys have posted actual dyno sheets, you'll find out quickly that what I posted is accurate.

As you can see, I have numbers too:

My lowly 318 produces 230HP/300 ft/lbs. stock and new. I've done just a little bit more to my engine than yours, and my numbers are far more in line with what the drive line loss should show.

Bottom line, the numbers don't mean much, because the numbers don't race. Your numbers are higher than they should be, and are not really an accurate representation of what is actually getting to the wheels. You can believe them if you want, but you're going to get embarrassed if you ever put your money where your mouth is and race somebody.

And yes, if we lined up side by side, you'd see my new tail lights, quickly. Then we'd have to pull over, and you'd have to go through the humiliation of me cutting your truck nuts off the back of your hitch and throwing them in the bed of my truck with the others.

Or perhaps your truck doesn't have any *****?

Oh and by the way: Hahns, the guy that agreed with me that your numbers are too high, maybe you should check his sig. His truck could probably do circles around yours and mine as we were racing down the track. If you don't think I know what the hell I'm talking about, believe that he does. You don't get a truck to that point with knowing a thing or two.

I made that initial comment as an observation, to help you with your research, not to call you out. You'll notice there is no slam or put down in that post. Your go-off-half-cocked attitude read something into it that wasn't there and you decided to run your mouth without checking facts. You made yourself look like a fool, and then posted even more ignorance after that.

In the words of today's youth: you need to slow your roll.
