The only problem with a percentage is that it's only good for stock vehicles. Once you modify, that percentage goes out the window.

I specialize in Mitsubishi 3000GT's and Dodge Stealth's. The turbo models make about 250-260 awhp stock (rated at 300-320 depending on year). Once you start modding them, that drivetrain loss isn't going to stay at 20ish %. You make 1000 awhp, you aren't losing 200 hp through the drivetrain. The heat produced from losing that much power would be insane!!!

That may be true, but, I don't think people started off arguing that point. The above quote is what started it all. And that by far is no modified vehicle.

In all reality, drivetrain loss is going to be a product of friction, and the mass being moved, so, regardless of input power, the amount of power lost due to the drivetrain, should be a fixed number. (or, a fixed curve)

Yes, but stop calling it stock. When it has been modified. Ever so littlle as it is, is modified still. I am going to find another dyno place closer to home and with a little better rep. I will post pics once i get the scanned. I own more vehicles then technological advanced pieces that are computer accessories. It says dynojet atop my dyno sheet. It was mounted in floor with two separate drum pieces.
