Were those numbers SAE corrected? If not, have them send you the corrected numbers. It's the only way to compare dyno runs made at different times.

I saw no difference during normal driving or any MPG change, the difference is that on the hot days when the clutch fan would lock up there was a huge power loss which isn't there with an electric fan, the whole point of the clutch fan is to only be working when it needs to so most of the time you aren't gonna notice it.
I didn't do a good job of explaining myself.. you're right, but my figurin' is that the power loss isn't as significant to the engine when the engine is in the power band.. before the power band, it is very significant..

I just want to say that my '72 has a mechanical fan with no clutch.

I think its cuz if you welded the fan to the pump itself it wouldn't spin, so it wouldn't do anything.
How do you figure the water pump wouldnt spin if the fan was welded to it? That makes no sense what so ever.

Yeah I used to have a '69 Charger R/T with a 440+4 that had no clutch on the fan. Ran hot till I installed an electric fan on it..

Yeah you do have a genious on here now, feel free to be greatful.
You could lose the attitude, and be MUCH further ahead ya know.

On most of the electric fan equipped cars, that also have air conditioning that I have personally dealt with, the fans run when the a/c is on, regardless of vehicle speed. If the a/c is NOT on, generally, over 40 mph they do NOT run.

Since you started playing the know it all game, I joined in. You said pump, not pulley.

Umm the irony of misspelling "genius" is killing me. Lmao. Also it's "grateful" dude. If you're gonna have the attitude at least use spell-check. You might come across a little better....nah, probably not.

thank you very much for sharing. i do not believe every thing on the web but sounds like you aproached this pretty scientifically. sometimes its the variables that lie. I think the information you have presented is valid and helpfull. I have dewits alum. radiator and dual fan setup in my corvette and works very well but have no numbers to link to any gain. besides did a complete engine warmover at the same time as electric fan changover so my data is spoiled. my butt dyno is very happy tho. am seriously considering this upgrade to my dodge but would be doing it at the same time as a 318-360 upgrade so spoiling it again.
thanks again.
