Yes I have. I have also skimmed through it a couple of times, along with tons of posts on this forum. I have found tons of great info on here, and appreciate it. Apparently I didn't remember everything, I will try to get time to go through it again tomorrow...and order the parts when I figure it out. Between the kids and work, I don't get a lot of time on the net. Thanks

Well, I'd stick with a stock Tstat, and you do need new intake bolts(they are not reusable). Get a Felpro intake set, rather than using the ones that come with the kit.

There is a bit of a difference of opinion on whether you need new bolts or not. From my research, TTY (torque to yield bolts, which is what the intake bolts are), are use ONCE, and replace. If you torque them down, and then have to back them off, you may NOT re-use that bolt..... Seems extreme, but, in my opinion, better safe than sorry.

Bolts are actually cheaper at the dealership..... imagine that.

Unless you plan on getting a tuner soon, just stick with the stock thermostat.

Thanks guys, I realize most if not all the info is here, but I have been trying to cram too much Dodge Ram info in my hard head. Trying to sift thru opinions, and what not, I just want to get what I need, and not have (too many) regrets when all is said and done. I will get the bolts..order the plate kit. These felpro gaskets..can I get them at Napa ??
Reading thru the posts the last few weeks, I am thinking I want to buy a SCT Tuner. It might be a month or two before I can afford it, but it seems worth the money. I will also buy a 180 stat for the plenum fix.
Thanks guys

You can get the fel-pro gasket set at any parts store. Prolly cheaper than from hughes.

Just get the plate and plate bolts from hughes, you can get the stat locally too.

Get the intake bolts either from the parts store, or the dealer. Whomever is cheaper.

Yeah, the learning curve can be pretty steep in the beginning.

intake bolts at advance are $32ish. at the dodge dealership it was $18.

i went with the 180 t-stat and did the whole nine yards with plugs/wires/cap/rotor/ timing chain and gear, etc
