As you can see from the pics, i had to tear the whole mirror housing apart to get to those 4 bolts... that was an adventure!!

 

Take those 4 bolts loose and remove the white plastic cap inside. Slip a piece of hose, I used a 1.5" diameter by 4" long piece off of a washing machine, around the metal arm and reattach the cover with the four bolts. Be careful not to strip the screws out as that is some cheap crappy metal! You will still be able to move the mirror, but it will be stiffer than stock.

 

This fix wont last if you have a subwoofer. Ive done this probably 10 times until i said screw it an I got them exactly where i wanted them and drill and tapped them in. Worked fine until i broke down and got solid piece ones.
