Default loose mirrors

The mirrors on my 96 ram 1500 are loose, when i get up to freeway speeds, they both fold in so that i cannot see behind me. how do i get to the bar to tighten them up? do i have to take off the door panel?

Take off the door panel, and then take off the mirrors as well. I don't recall if you can adjust the tension on those... take it apart, have a look, and post some pics.

It has the chrome one's right? Not sure if you can tighten them. I have a pair of black OEM mirrors off a 98 if you are interested.

Honestly do yourself a favor and buy the Cal Vu SS mirrors for 80 Bucks replace them and never worry about it. I had the problem you can open the door up take it off and tighten it, but if your like me and have a system or drive fast it will get loose again. The style is a flawed one. Check em out

If you look on the bottom, there is a plastic knockout/plug. I'm sure that can be access to tighten them.
