Get a 24" Magnaflow, not the 18". 18" for whatever reason drones significantly more than the 24".

Dodge has the loudest engine of the big 3, not sure exactly why that is, probably due to port designs, but anyway, you want a bigger muffler if available. You'll still be louder then everyone else.

I am in the market as well for a new muffler i will be going magnaflow. Had them on my 94 impala and they sounded great. Find a good muffler shop that isn't going to give you a bolt on if they cant weld it all go some place else. That is the hardest part i have found in Florida so far. Mad hadders is a good place to go they got shops in a few states. And they will answer nearl an questions you have.

squirrels is right, Dodge's are noticeably louder then a Ford or Chev with the same exhaust setup. Keep that in mind.

Here's my opinion. Magnaflows flow better, however I think they drone worse then a flowmaster. Just my personal opinion I've heard alot of trucks with magnaflow and I never have acquired the taste for them. The drone is to much for at least. Again squirrels had a great point if you are going to buy a magnaflow get the 24'' muffler. The 18's are what I normally hear and I just think it is annoying. They sound ''ok'' to listen to them outside, but in the cab is annoying.

I have always been a Flowmaster guy. Never heard a bad flowmaster. I have a Super44 on my Ram with a stock cat... and it is noisy. Drone isn't the worse, but it sounds loud and throaty outside. Roars on takeoff, great mufflers.

Either way you go, you are going to have drone. Magnaflow and Flowmaster's drone period. And IMO Magnaflow's are worse.

Anyone have experience with Dynomax Valve Tech mufflers? Supposed to eliminate the drone at idle/cruising but open up when you step on it. My FM40 is too loud for me as well and need something quieter.

Personally I have not.
Nothing worse than a muffler that sounds raspy when putting your foot into it and having it drone at certain speeds.
Also gets you noticed quicker by law enforcement.

No thanks, I enjoy my piece and quiet.

I personally like my stock exhaust, it's quite but deep when I gun it. I'd think a highflow cat mixed in there would sound the best but I also dont like loud trucks, unless it's a super lifted diesel or something awesome.

Thinking about it, easing all the posts saying that the Flowmaster 40s are too loud. I think, uh, I don't think my 40s are loud enough.

Just me I guess
